Gun Grabbers licking their chops over Aurora, CO tragedy

-Sign on Cinemark theater door.

"Common sense" laws do not apply to situations that defy logic and sense.

Using "gun control" to stop murders is like using "silverware control" to stop obesity.
Take away one tool and evil will find another way.
"Promise to put my face and my story on every news network in the world and I'll give you the biggest body count I can muster."

If I'm a slighted narcissist, I want one thing more than anything else.
Attention & Avenging my narcissistic injury.
If I'm a depressed solipist who is not going anywhere in life and I'm feeling the ultimate pangs of ennui and worthlessness setting in, I want one thing more than anything else.
     Attention.

Glorifying the killers, emboldens future killers.

Firearms and the technologies associated with them are a genie that has been let out of the bottle long before I was alive.  They are so readily available that there is absolutely no way to stop them from getting into the wrong hands.  So, we should make sure that they get into the right hands as well.  The existing firearms laws only hurt the law abiding creating "paper crimes" with no victims.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  Making things illegal does not keep them from existing or happening.

Let us examine the logic expressed here:
  • Drugs are illegal - Can we find drugs readily available in the U.S.?  On every corner in every city.
  • Prostitution is illegal (in most jurisdictions) - Can we finds prostitutes readily available?  Give me 5 minutes, and I'll find you a whore on Craigslist.
  • Firearms are illegal - "OMG, I can't find a gun anywhere it's like they've all magically disappeared or something.  How am I going to murder people now?"
Yeah, so that's not how it's going to work.  All you can do is disarm the law abiding.  Mad dog killers will always be rare, but will always exist and can NEVER be prevented.

The greatest evil is that anti-gun zealots are trying to use these tragedies as a political football for their own fallacious ends:

"If we have an assault weapon ban, we can stop these active shooter events from happening."

Flatly, false.  This argument falls on it's face in so many ways, too many to name infact, but here's a glaring example. The Columbine School Shooting happened right smack in the middle of the fabled Assault Weapon Ban of 1994.  This law did not prevent any loss of life.

Gun grabbers need to admit what they are after and go for the gold.  They want to repeal the "embarrassing" 2nd Amendment and end private firearms ownership in the United States.  They are willing to use any means necessary to achieve their ends including half-truth, outright lies and political sleight-of-hand.  Right now they are trying the elephant approach.  You can't eat an elephant in one bite.  You have to consume it one mouthful at a time.

All an "assault weapon" is comprised of is a semi-automatic firearm with adjustable stocks and other menial features (flash hider, bayonet lug? lol) that for some reason make Gun Grabbers wet their pants.  It's a not a full auto bullet hose.  They are no different in function than everybody's favorite the Ruger 10/22.  One pull of the trigger, one shot.  That's it.  In reality, the Gun Grabbers view a so-called "assault weapons" ban as a low hanging fruit and an easy victory with which to bootstrap more stringent gun control in the future.

-The insufferably evil semi-automatic Ruger 10/22

The Gun Grabbers are relying on our complacency and ignorance to strip us our inalienable rights one tasty bite at a time.  Assault weapon bans are the first bite.  Ask a Gun Grabber, what's next?  If they are honest, they'll say semi-autos and concealed carry.  After that is hunting...errrr sniper rifles.  Do you see where I'm going with this?  They want you to get to the point where you scream out in terror when you find a .22 LR cartridge in the middles of the street.

First they came for the Socialists "assault weapon" owners, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist did not own an "assault weapon".
Then they came for the Trade Unionists semi-automatic owners, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionists did not own a semi-automatic.
Then they came for the Jews hunting rifle owners, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew did not own a hunting rifle.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.
Martin Niemöller A Law Abiding American Citizen
Gun grabbers seldom mention the violence that ravages big cities.  They tell the citizens their will be less violence if you let us ban your guns.  So they passed gun grabbing legislation making it almost impossible to legally own a firearm let alone carry one for protection.  You can't own a handgun in Chicago, yet there have been more murders in Chicago than troops killed in Afghanistan in the last 12 years.  Chicago is a murderer's paradise where the law abiding are disarmed.  Yet the gun grabbers have nothing to say about their lethally failed policies.  A gun is not a magic amulet or a panacea, but it can give a law abiding citizen a fighting chance in a situation where they otherwise would have been brutally murdered.
Lets's just say for 1 minute that total elimination of private firearms ownership could be accomplished(which it can't, but humor me.).  Remove firearms and other more sinister means take their place (which you can't in a free society).  Poisoning and bombs become the conduits of mass murder.

For example:

Readily available materials can create horrific bombs like the homemade one used in the Oklahoma City Bombing.  All it contained was diesel fuel and common farm fertilizer in the back of a U-Haul.
168 people dead, without a single shot fired.

Water supplies could be infiltrated with a minimal of difficulty and poisoned with readily availible poisons, which I will not name.  However, these aren't difficult things to make or get a hold of.  You can't stop evil in a free society.

A free society is a danger to itself by it's very nature of being free.  We are free to make the right decisions as well as the wrong decisions.  The shear fact is that we have tens of millions of semi-automatic rifles in this country and exceedingly few of them are ever used in any type of crime.  We cannot stop, nor prevent violence in a free society.  We can do everything we can to make sure that relevant grievances are aired and that every person has a say in their own future, but you can't stop a mad dog killer from killing.

Free will is the issue, not firearms.

Turn your swords into plowshares and YOU will plow for those who didn't.  The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

UAW 2359

On strike at Conn-Selmer in Eastlake, Ohio.

Once a Marine, always a Marine.

I'm no Oleg Volk, but I'm getting there.  One step at a time!  My brother and I were out at the range.  He was pushing an old bowling ball around with every shot at 100 yards with an M1 Garand in 30-06.
It's not hard to imagine why Officer Daniel Harless thought it was OK to treat people like Mr. Bartlett so poorly.  According to Canton City Council President Alan Schulman, it seems that those who live in bad neighborhoods have less rights that those who don't.  Also, people who carry guns for protection are insane.

Anyway, I let him speak for himself.

Absolutely Disgusting - Canton, OH PD Officer threatens to execute Concealed Hangun Licensee

Plan on driving through Canton after this one?  Me neither.  This amounts to nothing more than state sponsored terrorism.

Luckily, he has the same counsel that I did when I was erroneously arrested for "failing to notify".  It seems to be a slam dunk case of police brutality as well.

Imaging if you talked to any other person the way this officer spoke with this gentleman.  We can't even talke to POWs that way!  It's against the Geneva convention to threaten enemy combatants with execution.

It's not over!  This man is currently charged with a crime.  You can donate to his legal defense fun at Ohioans For Concealed Carry http://ohioccw.org/201107214955/cantonpd.html

Bullying is awesome

There is much talk today about bullying.  Who's responsible and why, there seems to be a consensus in the media and with many parents that bullying is a new and terrifying phenomena that has not been going on since the beginning of time.  They use big words like "Cyber-Bullying" or some other domestic terrorist like reference.  Even the President of the United States has found time to weigh in.  It's now a threat to national security and it's all a sham.

I'm sorry, I really am, that your kid decided to take their own life as of the result of being bullied.  However, every kid that is bullied doesn't kill themselves.  Teen suicide is another phenomena that has been troubling the youth of our society since the beginning of time.  Suicide cannot be stopped, just like murder cannot be stopped. It's terrible and we should make every effort to see that mentally ill children get the help they need, but they are mentally ill.  When you take your own life, it is your actions, not others, that are to blame.  People are going to be mean to you for the rest of your life.  Teaching children to cope with stress more effectively is a far better idea than trying to stop human nature.

I will not deny that bullying can take it's toll.  I should know, I was quite heavily bullied for most of my childhood and teen years.  My friends and family can attest to that.  I've felt very very down before, but I took steps to cope with what was effecting me.  I cried in the guidance counselor's office over and over again about how kids were always making fun of me, assaulting me, spitting on me and just generally being mean to me.  It hurt very much and I was sad a lot.  The guidance counselors did what they were supposed to do, try to make feel better about who I was and attempted to get the offenders in trouble for what they were doing to me.  They never got in trouble, because when they were asked about it they always denied it.  I was angry that nothing could be done, but I knew that you couldn't punish others without evidence.

What kind of society would we be if we just let people point a finger at someone and say "He did it!" and then they are summarily punished/executed based on the tears and complaints of another?

Bullying is a life experience that is necessary to teach children how to deal with adversity.  How do we learn to stick up for what is right if we've never had to before?  When someone is bigger or smarter of whatever  than someone else they will find a way to use that to their advantage.  This country was founded on kicking the biggest bully in the world out of our lives.  In an amusingly cruel twist of fate, England is now an anti-bully and burglar loving socialist hell.
Case in point: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/outdoors/8318985/Shed-owners-warned-wire-on-windows-could-hurt-burglars.html

The government getting involved in trying to "solve" the bullying "problem" is teaching kids that you don't have to stick up for yourself, Uncle Sam will do that for you.  They are teaching kids that it's OK to be a victim, you just have to tell the teacher/police/mayor and they will handle it for you.  What about when they aren't there?  Can I tell a home invader that my guidance counselor will make them pay or should I put a swift end to them with my Mossberg 500?  Which would be more effective?  They are teaching kids that the only ones that take action are bad guys and the government.  Is this want we want? A society of sheep that do as they are told and are left to the wolves?

I let kids get away with torturing me for years and then one day I decided that I wasn't going to take it anymore.  In 11th grade, yeah it took me a while, I addressed a bully who had been harassing me since 6th grade.  He made his last threat to me and in the end it was brutal and effective.  No one else wanted to bully me anymore.  In fact, I had other former bullies try and mend fences with me to keep themselves from receiving the same swift justice.
I'll admit, maybe I didn't use the best tactics in overcoming the bullying that was affecting me, but it was effective and I was left alone.  We must teach our children to stick up for themselves.

Trying to stop bullying at the national level is as laughable as dropping smart bombs on a 3rd grader for pulling other kids hair.  If you want kids to stick up for themselves they have to have some degree of earned self confidence.  There can be none of this "every person is special and unique" shenanigans anymore.  Self confidence is earned, it is not intrinsic, an entitlement and nor can it be included for no additional fee.  An entitlement society will not stop the bullying, it will just create bigger bullies at higher levels.

Teach your kids to stick up for themselves and have them take part in activities that make them proud of who they are.  It's not the government's problem, it's yours.  A child with their own sense of identity can never be kept down.

Photoblog

I'm going to start posting photos from Ohio and other places of interest.... starting today.
